This project was done as a part of the course DESIGN 232 - Smart Homes and Cities. I worked in a group of 5 where we designed a solution to the Construction and Demolition waste problem in NZ.
To do this our group designed and made a prototype for a smart sensor that industrial material recycling plants could use on their conveyer belts to indentify the types of material coming in and the location of the piece of waste so that an autonomous sytem could be used to more quickly and efficiently sort the waste with minimal human involvement. This would allow for the recycling centers to process more material and reduce the waste going into landfill.
During the project I took on the Branding and marketing role within the group so took charge of the logo, branding, marketing strategy, and marketing materials as well as helping out with the technical aspects of our physical protoype.
